Stayed in: May 2016
After missing a flight with Alitalia, this stay was somewhat unexpected. Having grabbed a voucher from the airline, it was out on to the airport shuttle, which was somewhat of a public bus. As Alitalia seemed to be having a few issues out of FCO, there were quite a few people waiting to check in. Luckily, I was near the front of the queue and I was seen to fairly quickly. Despite the airline paying for the room, I was entitled to my HHonors Gold benefits after handing over my card.
The main room was a little on the small side, but it was all good enough. It was airy and well furnished however it was lacking colour a little.
Again, the bathroom was good enough, although a little worn in places.\
Standard Hilton amenities in the bathroom and I was invited to get my two bottles of water from the pantry next to the check in desk on the ground floor. I much prefer this as first off you know you’ve got them and secondly as I prefer still water, I can grab two of these. If theyre left in the room, its normally one of each. Also included were tea and coffee facilities.
This is a perfect example of what the Hilton chain set to achieve with the Hilton Garden Inn brand. Having stayed at the full blown Hilton at FCO just over a month before this visit, I got a fairly good comparison of the two hotels. This one is a more basic, less frills version of its bigger brother. But to match this, it has a lower cost (I had looked at staying here on my previous visit). Everything was in order however and I had a comfortable nights sleep.
